Most people know Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee for her fiery temper, but it appears there’s a softer side as well. The colourful design of the Railways’ new Duranto coaches, it seems, was her brainchild. The idea struck her at midnight some weeks ago and she painted a picture of what the coach should look like.
Then, when Banerjee was travelling with party MP and Minister of State for Rural Development Shishir Adhikary. Banerjee found Adhikary sweating after boarding the aircraft and decided to use a wet handkerchief to wipe his face. While other passengers were amused, Banerjee told Adhikary’s son ‘You should take care of your father’.
