'Marriageable' entrepreneurs

During a discussion at the World Economic Forum, Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma recalled that during his first innings as a start-up man in the late 90s, businessmen were rated at the bottom on the marriage market. "People used to think, 'he didn't get a job, that's why he is doing business'. It was a social problem," Sharma said. The host then asked 23-year-old founder of Oyo Rooms Ritesh Agarwal, if he faced similar issues, adding that he might not, because on dating app Tinder, entrepreneurs were a "hot category" these days. Before Agarwal, who was blushing, could answer, Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion Secretary Ramesh Abhishek, who was on the panel, stepped in. "You are too young to marry," he told Agarwal, sending the audience into a fit of laughter.
