The game of one-upmanship is on in earnest in Uttar Pradesh, as the state gears up for Assembly elections in 2017. Bahujan Samaj Party President and former state chief minister Mayawati (pictured) made light of the recent moves by the Congress to flex its muscles. On Friday, she said the Congress' chief ministerial candidate for the state, Sheila Dikshit, would have no impact on the polls. "She has allegations of graft of crores of rupees against her; on top of that she is old," said Mayawati. Reacting to the appointment of actor-turned-politician Raj Babbar as the UP Congress chief, she said he was a political grasshopper with loyalty neither towards any party nor political ideology.
