Messing around!

Business Standard New Delhi
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which was in danger of fading into oblivion after its poll debacle and intense infighting, has found a new issue to fight for: the Delhi University (DU) four-year undergraduate programme mess. After the scrapping of the controversial four-year programme, the party has lashed out at both the national parties - the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress. It has accused the former United Progressive Alliance government and the current BJP-led National Democratic Alliance of wreaking havoc with the higher education system and politicising the issue. Questioning the turnaround of the University Grants Commission (UGC), which backed the four-year programme till last year, AAP has demanded not just the resignation of DU Vice-Chancellor Dinesh Singh, but that of UGC Chairman Ved Prakash as well. The party has not stopped at that. It has demanded that all key officials, including the registrar, step down owning responsibility for the mess.
