The Central Bureau of Investigation recently laid a trap to catch red-handed a deputy general manager of South Eastern Coal Fields who had demanded a bribe at three per cent of a tender. Alerted that he was about to be caught, the DGM took the extreme step of flushing the bribe money down the toilet. Undeterred, CBI sleuths dismantled the plumbing to recover the money and, after arresting the official, seized several bank accounts and immovable property too.
