Prime Minister Narendra Modi's penchant for cleanliness has started showing its results. With Modi scheduled to make his maiden visit to the National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog later in the week, its corridors have already received a fresh coat of paint. The elevator, which he is expected to take to reach the conference room on the second floor, has also been repainted and tested several times to ensure a glitch-free ride. Modi is no stranger to the building that houses the NITI Aayog now and before that, the erstwhile Planning Commission - he was among the most consistent visitors and attended almost all the annual plan meetings of Gujarat - and is sure to appreciate the makeover, say officials spearheading the clean-up act.
