Business Standard New Delhi
First, some posters appeared outside the homes of Samajwadi Party President Mulayam Singh Yadav and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow demanding that party leader and UP Cabinet Minister Azam Khan be made deputy chief minister of the state.

Now, Khan has gone a step further: he has openly expressed his desire to become the prime minister. Khan hoped that Mulayam Singh Yadav would propose his name for the post. Not only that, "if (Prime Minister) Narendra Modi resigns and all MPs elect me the PM it will send a good message across the country and India will progress (with) each passing day", he claimed.
