Cabinet ministers not wanting to be garlanded is a welcome thing in this age of sycophancy. Except, in the case of one minister, the instructions from his personal staff came after, on a few occasions, his wig nearly came off as he was being garlanded; on one occasion, the hearing aid also fell to the ground.
