No space for state police

Business Standard New Delhi
The Chhattisgarh police is finding it tough to find space for police stations in two locations in the state capital. Police officials initially approached the state-run Chhattisgarh Housing Board, which owns vacant land in Sejbahar and Kabir Nagar, the areas where the new stations are to be located. But the board officials demanded Rs 2 crore for the land, which the police turned down. Another attempt to get the land free also failed, so officials are now looking for space to take on rent. The trouble is, few landlords are ready to welcome the state police as tenants.
