Chittaranjan Park in south Delhi was abuzz on Tuesday evening, as a jeep with commandos from the National Security Guard (NSG) escorted a car with three stars on its number plate. While onlookers wondered what the matter was, the car stopped in front of house number I-1691 and commandos jumped out of the escort vehicle to take position. A gentleman came out of the flag car and entered the house. This gentleman was NSG Director General R C Tayal and the house he entered was that of well-known homoeopathy doctor Kalyan Banerjee. There was a queue of patients at Banerjee's clinic, but Tayal, an Indian Police Service officer, patiently waited his turn. An officer and some NSG jawans had reached the clinic around two hours in advance to reserve a place for him on the waiting list of patients. As he left, Tayal shook hands with the jawans.
