Like many others in Parliament, RJD chief Lalu Prasad also spoke against the IPL tournament and alleged match-fixing and other evils. What seemed to have hurt Prasad more, however, was the treatment meted out to his son. His son, he told Parliament, was part of the Delhi team and so, as a proud father, he went to watch him play. His son, he said, was kitted out in the team’s colours but instead of going out to play, he went out with bottles of water for his team-mates and towels to wipe off their sweat. “Kya hamari haisiyat yeh hai… Yadav ka beta… (is this the respect that a Yadav’s son gets),” an upset Prasad asked the Speaker.
