If the trigger hadn't been so sad, this suggestion would be downright funny. The general outrage over the latest incident of sexual assault on a young executive in a private cab has quite expectedly spilled over to the social media with netizens demanding answers from a lax government and administration. The incident had one Twitter user wryly observing that the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government should now make it mandatory for all cab drivers to play recordings of the Bhagvad Gita while driving - this would keep them away from evil thoughts. This was an obvious dig at Sushma Swaraj's controversial statement that the Gita should be declared a "national scripture". The foreign minister had advised "psychiatrists and counsellors" to prescribe reading the Gita to patients suffering from depression.
