Talking about State Bank of India while signing an MoU with it, Unique ID project Chairman Nandan Nilekani recalled his first encounter with SBI way back in 1965, when he was a 10-year-old boy. In those days, most national-level cricketers like B S Bedi, A L Wadekar and B S Chandrasekhar used to play for SBI. A managing director of SBI who was a friend of the Nilekani family got to know that young Nandan was a cricket fan and got him the autographs of all the cricketers who played for SBI. “That’s SBI spirit. That was their customer service for a 10-year-old,” said Nilekani.
