Earlier this year Air India hired a chief operating officer, Gustav Baldauf, with an annual package of Rs 3 crore to oversee the airline’s operations and ease the pressure on Chairman and Managing Director Arvind Jadhav. But as the government-owned airline gets ready to shift to its new hub at New Delhi’s Terminal 3, a senior airline official involved in the move complains that Baldauf has not visited the terminal even once — he’s been monitoring things from Mumbai, although Jhadav has made several visits to T3.
