Union Minister for Communications and Information Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad was miffed that some newspapers did not carry a report after his briefing on spectrum trading and sharing norms a few days ago. He decided to register his protest while speaking to journalists after the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) announced new rules last week regarding compensation to consumers for call drops. Welcoming the Trai move, Prasad said, "Some business papers are probably run by telecom operators, as they carry only their point of view." When a journalist asked him to comment on some telcos' plans to go to court against the Trai decision, Prasad repeated his complaint that business papers were 'interested' in carrying only the telcos' version of things.
