It took almost a month for the BJP to write a letter to Rajya Sabha MP Arun Shourie asking for an explanation for his remarks against Lal Krishna Advani and party chief Rajnath Singh. It now turns out that the letter which reached Shourie a few days ago has not set any deadline for Shourie’s reply.
According to BJP sources, as Shourie enjoys the RSS’ backing, the party cannot take any action against him and the open-ended letter was the only solution to save face.
