Many Congressmen may be sure of sweeping the Assembly elections in Kerala, but not Rahul Gandhi. Recently, Gandhi met MB Rajesh, a CPI(M) MP from Kerala, and asked him an unusual question: How is the Congress Party doing in Kerala before the elections? Rajesh gave him a detailed analysis of how the various scams were going to hit the Congress and that the ruling Left Democratic Front was regaining ground in many areas. Finally, when the comrade told him “things will not be that easy for the Congress,” Gandhi smiled and quipped, “Even I want a strong Opposition in Kerala, when the Congress comes to power.”
