Babul Supriyo, the minister of state for heavy industries, has taken to ribbing his ministerial colleague SS Ahluwalia about his new portfolio. Supriyo has been telling Ahluwalia, 65, that it doesn't behove him at his age to be handling a portfolio that has "affairs" in it.
Earlier this month, Ahluwalia was appointed minister of state for parliamentary affairs. Ahluwalia, who is also minister of state for agriculture and farmers welfare, has a ready retort - while he might be responsible for "affairs", he is equally mindful of "welfare".
Ahluwalia, referred to as "Google uncle" by a publication for his ability to remember dates and incidents, was pleasantly surprised recently as his supporters have put up billboards in Chandigarh for his inclusion in the Union council of ministers. The billboards, with his photograph, refer to him as "Google uncle".
