Almost all UPA ministers have photos of the President and Prime Minister in their office. The Congress Ministers usually add Sonia Gandhi’s picture to their office walls. Trinamool Congress MP and Minister of State in Urban Development Saugata Roy has specially ordered four more photos for his office—Jawaharlal Nehru, Rajiv Gandhi, Rabindranath Tagore and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
During the first UPA regime, Information and Broadcasting Minister Priyaranjan Dasmusi had Tagore’s picture in his room. This time, Saugata Roy is the lone minister to flaunt the poet’s photo. “How can a Bengali minister’s room be decorated without Tagore and Netaji?” Roy tells Business Standard.
