Plan AB

Business Standard New Delhi
Vijay Mallya might have been lying low for a while now, but Tuesday's stellar show by Royal Challengers Bangalore brought him back to good spirits.

In a tweet that went viral, the liquor baron in exile said, "When Plan A doesn't work (Chris Gayle)... when Plan B doesn't work (Virat Kohli)... there's always plan AB @ABdeVilliers17. Congratulations RCB @RCBTweets."

A B de Villiers' 47-ball 79 helped Royal Challengers Bangalore qualify for its first Indian Premier League final since 2011. Lenders trying to recover the Rs 9,000 crore Mallya owes them would be hoping that he has a "Plan AB" for settling their dues, too.
