Prime Minister Manmohan Singh recently admitted that he was clueless about the soaring prices of food grain. In an interaction with capital’s women scribes, who had confronted him with high prices of ‘atta, dal, chawal’, Singh admitted he had been told that prices of food grain had declined in recent months. However, sensing the mood of the gathering, Singh quickly changed tack: “Anyway, I concede. Obviously, on this, you would know more (than) I do,” he said candidly.
