Lukewarm response at public meetings organised by the Delhi BJP prompted party general secretary Vijay Goel to literally hit the park, not for his physical well-being but to revive the health of the party. At the forefront of his ‘campaign’ are morning walkers in the Rohini and Dwarka neighbourhood parks. Goel drives down to parks early in the morning to speak to morning walkers and tell them about how BJP could make a difference and how the Congress-led Delhi government was fleecing people. When senior leader Ananth Kumar heard Goel’s plans, he decided to join the party general secretary but soon changed his views, realising that Rohini was very far from his home. But Kumar’s decision could not dampen Goel’s spirit and innovative way to woo voters.
