The Aam Aadmi Party, in power in Delhi, might have made some headway in Punjab, but its efforts in Gujarat will take some time to bear fruit, it seems. For two days this week, party workers sat on a dharna outside the Torrent Power office in Katargam, Surat, with a simple demand: reduce electricity tariff for the benefit of the common man. Not getting any response from the company, they decided to embark on a bike rally to spread their message and garner support. The rally turned out to be a non-starter, as only about 15 people turned up for it and three motorcycles could be deployed.
