A leading company marketing pesticides organised a press meet in Chhattisgarh's capital city, Raipur, to promote one of its brands. The product has been effective for paddy and Chhattisgarh is one of the country's major rice-growing states. As the organisers were preparing for the meet, heavy rains lashed the city and many reporters could not make it to the venue. The organisers were in a fix in more ways than one. As one of their managers explained, they could not pray for the rain to stop so that the event could begin because the rain would help the sale of company's pesticides and achieve the target set for the state that had already been short of rainfall this current season. Eventually, the organisers extended the press meet by an hour and a half.
