With the Patel quota agitation led by Hardik Patel fizzling out in Gujarat, senior leaders of the community are preparing to take tips from Gujjar leaders in Rajasthan. After a prolonged stir - mostly, blocking railway tracks across Rajasthan - the Gujjars' demand was accepted by the state Assembly last September when it passed a bill allowing five per cent quota for the community and four other special backward classes. Senior Gujjar leaders are expected to visit Gujarat and advise Patel leaders on how to implement the "Rajasthan model" in their state. "They have enough experience to guide us in this long fight," said a senior Patel leader from north Gujarat.
