Ramdev's Ebola cure denial

Business Standard New Delhi
In the past, yoga guru Baba Ramdev has claimed cures for Aids and homosexuality. So, it didn't surprise many when reports appeared that Ramdev, indefatigable champion that he is of Ayurveda, has offered "a health pack" for preventing the Ebola virus. An advertisement attributed to Ramdev, and put out on a website ramdevmedicine.com that has his associate Balakrishna and his own photographs on the home page, claimed that "Indian doctors and scientists believe that there might be an effective cure of Ebola virus through herbs." There is no known cure for the Ebola virus the world over yet. The claims made in the advertisement were, therefore, received with incredulity in the medical community. But this once, the shoe was on the other foot. Ramdev tweeted on Wednesday that the website claiming the Ebola cure had nothing to do with him. Ramdev also took the opportunity to advise the media to not resort to "sensationalism" and "cheap journalism".
