A rebellion seems to have broken out in the Tamil Nadu unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), led mostly by those who failed to get tickets in the ongoing Assembly polls. Most leaders are blaming Pon Radhakrishnan, a Union minister of state from Tamil Nadu and member of Parliament from Kanyakumari. A Madurai leader said the present leadership of the BJP in the state was taking the party nowhere and that only Radhakrishnan's henchmen and followers had got tickets. Some reports quoted
T Balasubramania Adityan, a BJP activist, as saying that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should not waste time campaigning in the state.
