Union Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh never fails to surprise people. Nowadays, the minister is very particular about who’s asking questions in a press conference. On Saturday, while addressing a press meet on power projects in Uttarakhand, a journalist from Kerala asked a question on Vedanta’s mining controversy in Orissa. In his bid to avoid the question, Ramesh quipped: “The press conference is about Uttarakhand. You are talking about Orissa. But you belong to Kerala. There is no Vedanta issue in Kerala and no power project will be scrapped in Kerala. So, you don’t need to ask questions.”
