With the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) regime in place, parts of Lutyens' Delhi have been blanketed with streamers bearing the lotus symbol and giant posters of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with or without significant party leaders. Understandably, posters of Rahul Gandhi and his mother have vanished. But maybe the treatment of one of the most conspicuous posters of the Gandhi scion is a sign of the times. For the duration of the election campaign, this poster of the Congress vice-president, with his trademark grin and white kurta, fronted a large garbage disposal unit on Rajendra Prasad Road, near the BJP's headquarters on Ashoka Road. Since May 26, however, the poster has been reversed. But to passers-by, Gandhi's photo is clearly visible on the reverse - only this time, he's facing the garbage.
