With Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel about to demit office, he was nice enough to hold a party at his Mumbai residence for senior aviation people, both from the ministry as well as from the private sector. The who’s who of the industry was there. Since the list of invitees included several bureaucrats from the ministry, they needed to find some excuse to fly down to Mumbai. So, a review meeting of the combined Indian Airlines and Air India (Nacil) was held in Mumbai. By the way, while the new Nacil chief was present, the just-dismissed one was not.
