Rhyme-time

Most of us get New Year cards on, well, the New Year, or a little before. Like on Christmas. So it is a bit surprising to get a New Financial Year card. But that’s precisely what hair-oil firm Marico has done. It has sent out ‘Have a Great New Financial Year’ cards to people. The card is full of rhymes. Some samples: “In 2008-09, doggedly have we held our own/As the Sensex whimpers down and down”; and “Every Dog has his day … says the Wiz/You know … Slumdog Millionaire just had his”. Given the way currencies are tumbling, the card says, “May you too earn millions in a currency of your choice/May the New Financial Year bring you a lot in which to rejoice”.
