The Rajya Sabha debate on the government's move to withdraw Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 denomination currency notes brimmed with wry humour. Congress deputy leader of the House Anand Sharma ribbed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs and ministers about not getting a say in decision making. “If your leader says that a cat has carried a camel on its back, all of you would readily say yes,” Sharma said. Never the one to let go of an opportunity to use a repartee to settle a score, senior BJP leader and Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad requested Sharma to look in the mirror. “As if it’s any different in your party,” Prasad said good-humouredly. Sharma pretended not to have heard the comment.”
