After Prime Minister Manmohan Singh told a group of newspaper editors that he was contemplating a cabinet reshuffle ahead of the Winter Session of Parliament, lobbying has started in the Trinamool Congress — the biggest coalition partner in the second term of the United Progressive Alliance government. Senior Parliamentarian Sudip Banerjee, currently the chief whip of the party, is hoping to get a minister of state slot from the party’s quota. Kalyan Banerjee, lawyer-turned-MP and Mamata Banerjee’s main legal advisor, is eyeing to grab the chief whip’s post in the Lok Sabha.
