The CPI(M) general secretary, Prakash Karat, chose to quote from the manifestos of his allies, the TDP and the AIADMK, to point out that, like the Left, several others had a similar stand on the Indo-US nuclear deal. But since few parties use their podium to publicise other parties’ manifestos, Karat quipped, “Now I’m giving some free publicity to some other parties”, and then began reading from their manifestos.
