Visiting Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani addressed a joint meeting of the business chambers - the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Ficci), the Confederation of Indian Industry and Assocham - yesterday. During his speech, Ghani praised the strategy of Afghan ruler and founder of the Sur empire in north India, Sher Shah Suri. The speech inspired Ficci President Jyotsna Suri so much that while giving a vote of thanks at the end of the conference she said she was also a 'Suri', just like Sher Shah (Suri). She added India and 'Pakistan' should have stronger trade ties, but quickly corrected herself - it ought to be India and Afghanistan - which had Ghani in splits.
