Sticky wicket

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is not the only one who has used cricket to send a political message. Union Minister for Statistics & Programme Implementation M S Gill did the same at a function in Hyderabad where Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, a former Ranji cricketer, was present. Alluding to the tense situation in the state Assembly, Gill said, “I can almost sense that he doesn’t want to go back to the Assembly now. He says he was a wicket keeper but chief ministerji, you can’t be a wicket keeper any longer; you have to stand in front of the wickets and bat!”
