Strictly business

Under government rules, all civil society members who live outside Delhi and attend the committee meetings for drafting the Lok Pal Bill are provided business class tickets and daily allowances. This includes Anna Hazare. Nothing fishy here, but it is interesting that the man who preaches Gandhian austerity chooses to exercise a privilege when several government servants – Defence Minister A K Antony among them – opt to make do with cattle class for official travel.
