While the Election Commission of India has rejected allegations of tampering of electronic voting machines (EVM) made by some political parties after the Assembly elections in five states, the issue seems to be weighing on Karnataka Information Technology Minister Priyank Kharge’s mind. How does one solve the problem? Kharge tweeted a suggestion: “With all the speculations rife over EVMs being tampered with, EC should allow Bengaluru start-ups to have a crack at it to check if it is possible.” Karnataka Assembly polls are scheduled for 2018.
