With his appointment as petroleum secretary, Saurabh Chandra, a 1978 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre, may find himself dealing with one of the most controversial ministries in the government, but visitors to his office will find a distinct new outlook. After a visit, visitors are invited to help themselves to chocolates from a large jar placed near his office door. "Please pick up some chocolates from there. I always offer sweets to people who visit me," says the officer who was with the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion before his current assignment.
