An ardent devotee of Hanuman, Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda recently installed the deity’s statue at his residence in Ranchi. The decision to place the statue was taken in 2010 when Munda became the chief minister. But the temple could not be constructed then. However, after Munda had a narrow escape when his helicopter crashed at Ranchi’s Birsa Munda Airport in May, the construction of the temple was hastened. The three-day ritual of installing the statue was carried out by religious leaders from Varanasi and Ranchi.
