Tharoor's lock

Did anyone notice the transformation in the way Shashi Tharoor looked before the IPL-Sunanda Pushkar matter broke out and after, when he was defending himself in Parliament? Before, it was all about charming smiles, flicking back that lock of silky, but chemically-coloured, hair that would fall, engagingly boyish, on his forehead.

But when he addressed the Lok Sabha as a mere MP to make a statement that a minister who has resigned has the right to make, Tharoor either had a drastic haircut or pinned his hair back. For now, there is no long hair to flick back, no smile to flash. There is hope, however. He is reported to have got a tumultuous welcome in his constituency when he returned over the weekend. Still, for Tharoor, it’s ‘cattle class’ all the way now!
