It might sound ironic but the Bharatiya Janata Party is likely to turn to the Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts (IGNCA) to curate a puppet show based on the lives of leaders such as Syama Prasad Mookerjee and Deendayal Upadhyaya. The Sangh Parivar believes it needs to popularise the contribution of icons like Upadhyaya and Mookerjee among the youth. Shripad Yesso Naik, the minister for culture and tourism, is said to have been impressed after watching the puppet show that IGNCA, along with the Ramakrishna Mission and Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandal, developed on the life of Swami Vivekananda. A similar show could possibly mark the centenary of Upadhyaya's birth in 2016 .
