The other absentees

The media is needlessly hostile to Mamata Banerjee, says a senior member of the Union Council of Ministers and a Congress party leader. Reacting to news reports about Banerjee’s absence from the meeting of the Union Cabinet earlier this week, he says,“Someone should find out the record of attendance of other ministers,” and adds, “It is not just Alagiri, but one of media’s darlings, Kamal Nath, who has been absent at so many Cabinet meetings and yet the media says nothing! Why go after Mamata?”
