The Narendra Modi government is learnt to be scouting for "fresh" voices for the Republic Day commentary in both English and Hindi to support the regular set of commentators. It is one of the ways to make the Modi government's first Republic Day celebrations memorable, say officials involved with the preparations. The thing is, the event is already under the spotlight what with US President Barack Obama slated to be the chief guest. And one can't afford to have another Goa International Film Festival of India-like goof-up, where, on the day of inauguration, a Doordarshan anchor introduced the Governor of Goa Mridula Sinha as the "Governor of India".
