S S Rajamouli’s RRR has just hit over Rs 1,000 crore at the box-office. The fictional story of two freedom fighters, played by N T Rama Rao junior and Ram Charan, is being hailed as the third largest box-office hit after Aamir Khan’s Dangal (2016, Hindi) and Rajamouli’s own Baahubali 2 (2017, Telugu, Tamil). It may cross Dangal’s total estimated box-office gross of Rs 2,200 crore, reckon analysts. There may be older films that made more money, but there is no comparable revenue data available.
