In the ongoing saga of the change of guard in the Tamil Nadu unit of the Congress, here is an amusing aside. At one point, General Secretary in charge of Tamil Nadu, and the Centre's hatchet man, Mukul Wasnik told the man who has been replaced, Gnanadesikan, that if he did not comply with the Centre's demands, and become more aggressive in the membership drive, he would "miss the Rahul Gandhi bus".
"Bus?" said Gnanadesikan scornfully. "I don't need a bus. I have the Tamil Nadu car".
