The media may have viewed Finance Secretary Arvind Mayaram's unexpected transfer to the tourism ministry as a demotion, but the Rajasthan cadre officer is apparently not complaining about it, at least publicly, after a two-year "hectic" stint in North Block. Before the transfer orders came on October 16, a profile on Twitter with the handle @ArvindMayaram mentioned "travelling" as one of his interests. He did not have any Twitter followers but follows two people - Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a "solution architect" YugManishi. His profile changed after the transfer orders came and Mayaram posted his first tweet: "Tourism Unites, Terrorism Divides: (Welcome-To-India)". The Twitter profile now describes him as Tourism Secretary, though he will be taking the charge only after the retirement of current tourism secretary Parvez Dewan on October 31.
