In these times of falling global trade, a suggestion was made during the ongoing BRICS Business Forum in Delhi to increase trade in the Chinese currency, yuan.
While the moderator of a discussion on BRICS economy said the growing clout of the yuan made it an obvious choice to integrate trade, Indian business leaders on the dais seemed put off by the idea.
To everyone's relief, Assocham President Sunil Kanoria retorted that barriers to trade was a more pressing challenge. This, however, caused the only person smiling at the time to stop midway - the Chinese business representative.
