Television actress of the saas-bahu soap fame, Smriti Irani, is looking for a seat to contest the Lok Sabha elections. She wanted the Bhopal seat as it is one of the safer BJP seats but her plans were dashed because Sushma Swaraj opted for it and entered into a deal with the current MP, Kailash Joshi, who will get the remainder of Swaraj’s term in the Rajya Sabha. Local leaders are much happier with Swaraj than Irani. So a search is on for a seat for Irani, who is seen as a star campaigner in the BJP.
