Tweets won't help

Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor may have won a reprieve by arguing his comments had been twisted out of context by the media, but the continuing controversies caused by him have pretty much put paid to his attempts to get a full-fledged Cabinet rank. Tharoor had hoped that as India’s candidate for UN Secretary General he would automatically be considered for a Cabinet rank. Congress sources say he has tweeted himself into remaining an MoS for some time to come.
